Douen ii

Known for having backwards-facing feet and no distinguishable facial features except for a mouth, Douen, an entity from Trinidad and Tobago folklore, are said to be children who died before being baptized and forced to roam the earth as mischievous spirits. However, the younger generation hears the stories from the elderly, who know them.

Logline: While helping her aunt Sybil bake traditional Trinidadian bread, young Sania hears tales of mischievous spirits and forest protectors. But when a Douen—a childlike spirit with backward feet—appears, she realizes the warnings may hold dark truths, foreshadowing sinister events yet to come.
